As part of the innOsci Future Lab, a prototype of an assessment tool was developed to record current open science activities at universities and to support them with recommendations for organizational development in the field of open science. Together with a team of five open science experts, the prototype “Road2Openness” has been further developed in cooperation with three universities in a pilot project since September 2021 and will be available as a web-based questionnaire open source for all interested university representatives from the end of April 2022.
In this workshop discussion, we therefore invite you to get to know the tool better and to embark together on the “Road to Openness”.
In the first part of the event, we will present the questionnaire and report on its development.
Afterwards, we will discuss the process with representatives of the participating universities – EAH-Jena, RWTH Aachen and University of Potsdam.
Finally, the Expert:innen team will be available for questions and is looking forward to a lively exchange.
Open Science means opening up science through the greatest possible transparency in the research process and participation. This can increase the quality of research results as well as the social and economic benefits. Overall, this leads to a higher reputation of science and more trust in research. Many universities are interested in or have already set out to strengthen Open Science at their institution. With the project “Road2Openness”, innOsci – Forum Open Innovation Culture wants to support universities on this path and scale their societal impact.
