
Benjamin Missbach

Main focus
Benjamin Missbach was responsible for method development of open research approaches at the Open Innovation in Science Centers of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG OIS Center) from 2017-2020. He was particularly involved with prioritization processes for identifying novel questions (including via crowdsourcing) and the process design of topic setting with a focus on health and medical research. The goal of his work was to systematically open up research in different phases to stakeholders in order to increase its relevance in the long term. Since 2021, he has been responsible for the Environmental Systems Research and Cognitive Science programs in the WWTF team.
Short biography
The innovation expert holds a PhD in nutritional sciences from the University of Vienna and gained scientific experience at the German Institute of Human Nutrition (DE9) and Cornell University (USA). Benjamin Missbach has been leading the Priority Setting program at the LBG OIS Center since 2019.
